The Hot Rod wins the Turkey Shoot.

The Hot Rod wins the Turkey Shoot.
Went to Sealy, Tx.(Lone Star Raceway Park) last night. I raced in what they call a turkey shoot race on your 2nd time trail. You dial in and the best package (reaction time at closest to your dail) wins.
Well, I won with a .505 reaction time and ran a 7.20 on a 7.19 dail in. Hey I won $80.00 dollars, this was way cool.
Now with the race results. I went 4 rounds. I was on the tree all night. .522 in round 1. .508 in round 2. .514 in round 3 and in round 4, I red lighted with a .495 "Damn it" I ran a 7.1701 on a 7.16 dail in. Oh well, thats drag racing.
Iam kinda lost today. Iam not racing today for the 1st time all summer. I could not find a race today in the state of Texas.
I will back at it next weekend. Today I will enjoy my time with my family and take some pics of my Hot Rod with the 30x9x15 slick. Mr. Pro Stock John!
Good luck to everyone and have a great Labor day weekend.

Congrats Coach!
Stupid question for you Coach. Do you pick up any points for making it to the final round and losing? Or does only the overall winner pick up any points?

Good job Coach!
I couldn't find anywhere to go this weekend because of the rain around here.

Great job Coach. I'll be racing in the IHRA points series next year. Maybe LS1tech could get a best racer of the year series going next year. Something like a trophy class, no electronics class and an electronics class. Something like that anyway. Could be fun. You would be hard to beat Coach

You gonna bracket race or run one of the IHRA classes, like Quick-Rod?

Re: The Hot Rod wins the Turkey Shoot.
I had a decent night last night. I made it to the 5th round in footbrake ( 6 cars left). I fell asleep on the tree and had my worse light of the night ( .555) but ran 7.903 on a 7.90 dial. The other guy had a .503 . At least I got enough round money to pay for the night

I have no electronics yet so I'll probably run in the PRO Stock class which prohibits electronics.
I still have an automatic valve body Turbo 350 (no trans brake) so I will be foot braking. I fooled around with the bore motor sooo long I never had enough time or $$$ to upgrade ANYTHING.
I'm going to dial in my new set up with what I have and do nothing but have fun racing next year. I was out for over a year but I should be back in business in mid October if things go well. I don't have the desire to have the fastest car on the planet right now. I just want to compete.
Maybe at the end of the season or next winter I'll get one of them there 2 speed power glides. I already talked to Rossler but I'm going to hold off for now and invest in a TAG weather computer. Without one of those your chances are slim to compete in brackets. Everyone at my home track has one. They work too.

Thanks everyone.
Larry, Yes you get points for every round win.
Jason, It was a blown fuse and a wire arcing. She is fixed now. I will call ya tomorrow.
