BTW, The Comp Cams roller lifters will more than likely take high RPM operation a little better than the stock roller lifters without pumping-up. But other than that, the stock lifters are more than likely good for any revs you plan on operating at (as long as you have good aftermarket springs to compliment them).

If your goin huge lift dont be a cheapy, upgrade the whole valvetrain. I like crane's lifters myself.

Yes they are hydraulic.

It doesnt matter which lifters you replace them with, the stock GM ones, Crane, or Comp ones, theyre all made by the same company. When Crane and Comp get ahold of them, supposedly they disassemble them and make some improvements that are supposed to make them more durable in high HP environments.

As to what they exactly change, who knows. But I'll tell ya this, I priced out a set of 16 GM stock lifters, and the whole set would have been over $400 and that was through GMPartsDirect, whcih is typically a lot cheaper than the dealer.

Go with either Crane's or Comp's, Im sure neither is any better than the other.

The original rockers and lifters are very high-quality parts. Clean them and inspect them. If they look ok they probably are ok.
