Default Thinking about doing gear install myself?

I want to install some 4:10 gears in my stock 10 bolt rear, and would like to save money and do it myself. I this a job the normal do it your selfer can accomplish? Any tips and/or advice would help.

if you have the tools sure, the basic install is easy. getting the setup right is the hard part.
need to check pinion depth, ring gear back lash. these aren't the only checks
but if you can't do either, take it to someone who can...
if you don't do it right, expect whine, and/or clunking then
