I'm changing headers and going with new OEM GM metal gaskets. My first set of headers, I used the paper gaskets which shipped with my JBA headers and they worked fine, but, if you don't re-torque them after they heat up, you'll stand a good chance of blowing a chunk out of the gasket. Go with the metal gaskets and torque the bolts down evenly in the correct sequence. Even with the metal gaskets, it wouldn't hurt to re-torque them after you've driven for a couple of hundred miles ... simply because heat effects any material ... irregardless of how temperature tolerant the material might be.

I just went to my Pontiac dealership today and ordered the gaskets. They were $16.63 each and a bag of 10 OEM header bolts was $11.90. Total with tax was $48.33 for both gaskets and the 10 bolts. Straight off the Parts Invoice, the Gaskets are part# 12558573 and the bolts were part# 11515758.
