New Best @ NPR last night...10.83 @ 122.9
It was a rough night for many people at NPR last night, but it ended up great for me...I made 2 passes in a total of 6 hours, 10.89 and 10.83 before we loaded back up.
When we first got to the track, AirMed was landing and I knew it must not be good. We were told that a 55 year old guy had a heart attack and ran off the end of the track. Unfortunately, he didn't make it Once they had the police and ambulances cleared out, they let everyone in the gate but we still had to wait another hour or so before they started up again.
Made my first pass against a wheelie-bar'd Plymouth Arrow and I knew it was good when I could see him in my rear-view (Turns out he normally run's 9's and he spun really bad, but who cares...what an ego boost )
1.438 60'
6.901 1/8
98.19 1/8 MPH
10.890 1/4
122.76 MPH
We got a pretty long cool-down time between runs due to a dragster doing his license passes wrecking and rolling sideways down the 1/8 mile, Gordo oiling down the track (Sorry, Gordon, it could have been any of us!), and then a C4 Corvette smacking the wall. Poor Jessica was waiting this whole time just to make her first pass
Finally made it up for my 2nd pass and the car felt great!
1.413 60'
6.852 1/8
98.79 1/8 MPH
10.830 1/4
122.90 MPH
Needless to say, I was pretty happy The low 1.4x 60" times resulted in about 2' of air under the tires, which was also pretty cool
This was only my 2nd trip to the track this year...in February I ran 11.05, and in June I ran 11.12 in 90+ degree temps.
Here's a brief rundown on the car:
99 Z28
~3060 lbs
CNC Cylinder Heads
Thunder Racing 220/220 -112 (Baby cam!)
All the bolt-on's
Grotyohann headers
Open headers w/ collector extensions
The motor has been not changed in the car since May of 2001. We have tweaked the suspension, custom tuning, and weight of the car from running 11.96 @ 114 back then, down to the present 10.83 @ 122.9. Plans for a new motor are in the works, and the Turbo 350 with Transbrake should be here before the end of the week.

Very nice Angie. That sixty foot is simply awesome. You guys should update that car to Thunder's 2002 specs with GTP heads and one of your many new cams before the turbo 350/new motor. I'd imagine with just the GTP heads you would beat the 10.66 record, and with the 230 cam...well it'd be nasty.
Again, nice runs

We are working on getting the new motor together now, but as usual, waiting on Craig to do his thing... Also, we never seem to have time to work on our own stuff these days. Maybe one day Geoff will have a motor in the white car. Though, I was quick to remind him that my car now runs in the 1/8 mile the same MPH as his LT1 car did when it was stock

PSJ, Yes, I'm still running the FLP Level 4. We've been very happy with it with this motor combination. We're planning to install the Turbo 350 and brake w/ the new motor setup, hopefully this winter. I was told by a couple of people watching that the car was launching like a stock eliminator...all I know is I saw sky
LIL SS, The car has heads and cam and I'm running the stock bottom end with about 40,000 miles on it.
