Default Big Cam Autos Check In

What cam? What heads? What stall? What gears? Any issues?

Damn, i could have swore my husband responded to this one.

Cam: 238/242 .605/.610
Stall: Yank PT4400
Current gears: 4.10s

I am currently running on a 26" tall tire and would think i could benefit more at the track with a 27" or 28" with the 4.10's or go to 3.73 gears.

Issues?? Just getting it tuned right for cold start idles and things like that. Got that all worked out and it starts up with no problems even after not being driven for a couple days. With setups like this its all in the tuning.

I'm not really concerned about the issues--I shouldn't have put that in there! As long as it can be tuned to idle w/o dying, starts up in all temperatures, I would be happy!

See sig. I am going to pull it at the end of this race season (4 mouths) and put in a nice size cam.

In my old 346 was running 246/248 109 630/630 with 5000 stall and 3.91 gears. Ported LS1 heads.

Stall needed to be higher and diff gears lower to work properly at the track.

I run a 232/232 .595 lift with a TCI 3800. Idles pretty good with some surging, but starts right up. Has a nice rumpity-rump idle.

combo in sig so far ive had no issues with my tune in it, but i also havent tuned for wot yet so we'll see. Idle set at 975 when warmed up, no hot start issues, havent been able to test for cold temps as of yet though but no overnight startup issues where temp is around 70 in the morning. Minor minor surging before it warms up fully. had to set the TC lockup points pretty high 52mph otherwise the cam surge sucked pretty bad & deleted 3rd gear lockup, this is my daily driver but only 2 miles each way basically so take that fwiw. Im going to be changing to 3.73's or 4.10's shortly as well as an ls6 intake and put on my pulley so hopefully it'll put down some decent #'s at the track as well as the converter isnt exactly matched to the combo.

228/234 588/598 112+2 I ran this cam in my daily driver for over a year. TCI 3500 Stall, 3.89 gears. with a Ls1 intake and 9" w/ spool, and 28" slicks and a 10.1 AFR the car made 368 rwhp unlocked (stock heads, car dynoed 289 stock). with my tuning the car drove just like stock, never stalled, and started perfect I really loved this cam
