Default zexel-torsen and Slicks

Is anyone running Slicks with a Zexel Torsen rearend differential? If so, what gears do you have and what rpms are you launching at? I am thinking of 4:10s for my SS with the zexel torsen and am worried about it breaking, especially if I run slicks at the track. Any info would be greatly appreciated as my friend just bought a Zexel Torsen for road racing and he also drag races and Zexel Torsen told him that the differential doesn't like slicks because they like a little slippage in order to transfer torque correctly. That's a summation of what they said, hope I didn't misunderstand.
Also include what type of tranny, manual or auto and if auto, what stall if any. I have a M6 with stock clutch. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
Thanks.

Go with a 12 bolt, 33 spline axles, a spool with 5.13 gears and 30x9x15 M/T slicks. Dumped the thing at 6,500 rpms and hold on. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

That is my set up and I have no problems on the street or the drag strip. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

PS. IMO-If you are going to run at the drag strip on a regular basis with slicks. You need a 12 bolt and a spool. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Spool is the way to go IMO if you are racing a lot <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Car launches perfect straight, no need to worry about one wheel burnouts from dying posi's. etc

I am going up to a 4.33 rear gear in mine (up from 4.10) and a 26x10 inch slick vs my current 26x10.5 ET Street.
Cheers,
Chris

driveability is great with the spool. I dont drive fast around turns so I dont notice it at all. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

To answer his question, yes.
I have been running slicks on mine with no problems. I have way over 350+ passes on mine and cutting low 1.6's.
I have 3.42's, but than again I have a auto, much easier on the drivetrain.

I broke my HD Eaton Posi the 1st time out at HRP. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

I then went in the spool and no problems. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I had 4.56 gears and I dumped the Hot Rod at 5,000rpms. Them Boom! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

It's all good now with the 5.13's and the spool! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Consistent 1.4 60's and 10.80's on the stock torsen rear and not a problem. Car is an automatic.
