Default Underdriven Crank pulley- Safe? Worth it?

I was looking into getting one of these but I never bought it because I read they were giving false knock retard from being unbalanced making the hp curve fall off early. I think it was mainly the SLP pullies but it might have been March and ASP as well.

As far as power, some people say it is a mod you feel, not a mod you see on the dyno but I see people saying they picked up anywhere from 3-9 rwhp with them. If you don't see a hp gain then all it could do to help is rev the car faster. I already have 4.10's so I really don't want the car to rev any faster.

Car will rev more freely. Your removing a lot of reciprocating mass.

Awhile back ASP came out with a better pulley & doesn't have a problem. I've got a ASP pulley on mine & the car charges good too. I haven't had a single problem with it.-Fred

Hello:

I traded in a 2001 Mustang GT in March 2003 for my poor forgotten Firebird LS1 Formula A4 sitting behind a local dealership, unsold, unloved.

1/4 mile times: dead stock 14.06

With used SLP lid And FRA mod: 13.81

I'm getting a pulley and I'll keep you posted on the 1/4 times.

The Mustang Gt w/AT went from 14.3 to 13.9 with a pulley, T/A and X-pipe.

The pulley seemed to help even down low, unlike many other high rpm mods.

I'll let ya know what the new times are like.............

Well, in neutral, it will rev faster, but in gear, it will be about the same. They are definitly worth while. I am still waiting for mine
