Trac-Lock Posi OR Detroit Locker
Just looking to find out whats the difference between the two besides the price.I know the Detroit locker is more expensive but does it mean its better?. Will the Trac-lock posi work just as well?.

From what I've read I think the Detroit locker is best for track and for limited street use. I've seen a few people in my area get the lockers and loose interest in driving their cars on the street.
I am looking at getting a 9" soon and am planning with going with the trac-lock posi. I know the posi can break, but I hope it will be a good compromise. The nice thing about the 9" is you can switch the center section out with hand tools.

A locker will snap / pop when you go around corners, but will give you 100% equal power to both tires under load in a straight line. The posi will slip (posi = limited slip) when going around corners or under heavy load.

Here's you solution: the Auburn ECTED. It's an electronic locker that is a POSI (2.5:1 bias ratio) when unlocked. Usually electronic, phneumatic, or Detroit lockers function as an open diff when unlocked... but this one will be a posi.
Might actually increase drag strip durability as well, I don't know yet. They have the 8.8" Ford and GM 10-bolt units available now, and the mail I got from Auburn a few weeks back said the GM 12-bolt will be ready in October (a 9" Ford unit will also be launched).
MSRP will be about $600 for the 12-bolt version.
