Default Too much Oil Pressure?

I have 1999 Camaro SS A4 with relatively few HP mods

Lid & Cutout/Catback

First and Second gear, around from 1000-3300 rpms my oil pressure goes from 40psi (never dips below) to a steady 65-70psi till about 3rd gear and drops to about 50psi throughout the gear

ive been following the rule of thumb 10psi for 1000 rpms ... so 3000 rpms and getting 70 psi seems a little excessive ...

anyone else think so?

oil levels are fine .... and the engine does seems to take a 1/2 quart per oil change. ..

At WOT the oil pressure jumps to around 70+ psi on my car. Settles down to around 45-50 psi at idle... I don't think yours is too high.

If you want less restriction (and hence lower the oil pressure a little) you could try going with a better flowing oil filter, or changing to an oil that's a little thinner.

To a point, lots of oil pressure is good...

i can see it a WOT ...... but only going to 3300 rpms .... does this seem alarming to anyone else?

... i like to see all my needs pointing up .... except for the fuel guage... that can be to the right all it wants
