anti roll bar/rear sway bar?

anti roll bar/rear sway bar? I am currently not running a front or rear sway bar. I don't plan on running a front again since she is designed strictly for drag racing. The question is this however. What have you guys had a better experience with at the track performance wise? A beefy rear swaybar or an anti-roll bar? I need one asap and I also have a nine inch aswell so it has to have brackets that will fit. If you can please let me know your 60ft's, on the street experience, brand, price and if it will fit a nine inch or not. Thanks!

Re: anti roll bar/rear sway bar? Or... a 1LE rear swaybar w/ a Spohn bracket kit to make it work. The 1Le bar is a tad bigger than stock, and isn't very expensive...
If you want something more extreme, the BMR swaybar looks pretty nice. A Wolfe anti-roll bar would be the ultimate, but there are some drawbacks to using it on a car that sees a lot of street use. I have one on my car and love it.

I do run the factory rear anti-sway bar in addition to a passenger side air bag with 12 psi.
By the way, I am the dad, not the son!

Re: anti roll bar/rear sway bar? i have been driving my car quite a bit on the street the last couple months with a Wolfe anti-roll bar on it. it doesnt bother me at all. launches are perfectly flat now

GeorgeC: Can you explain why the Wolfe Sway bar isn't friendly on the street? I was thinking of getting one for my semi-daily driver and I'm just asking because here's what it says on Wolfe's website under the sway bar:
VERY STREETABLE, DOES NOT AFFECT NORMAL DRIVING, BUT DOES ELIMINATE BODY ROLL DURING CORNERING. Sounds like your car should handle better than stock with it. Thanks ~Tony

I actually run a BMR drag bar like Coach, and I also run a right rear airbag as well.
hehe my dad goes by Larry as well, gets confuzing when me,dad, and Larry Sample hang out at the track <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> .

Re: anti roll bar/rear sway bar? the anti-roll bars are optimized for the track. They make the Rear rise uniformly, like a 4 link. They dont allow the body to roll when going around corners, IE (over exaggerated): when making a right hand turn, the drivers side tucks into the fenderwell and the passengers side rises. With the bar on there, the is NO roll, the car would drive flat around a corner, not allowing the rear to squat and grab, you you loose alot of cornering abilities, but as for just driving it to the track and around town its fine with the bar on there. Another thing you could do. is just disconnect the heims that attach to the rears and wire tie them up for street use, that way you can can avoid the cornering issues.

Re: anti roll bar/rear sway bar? As far as not being practical for the street, it's just what I've heard... There is absolutely no body roll with the Wolfe bar. It could potentially be a problem turning up into steep dirveways, etc, but I used to drive mine on the street a great deal and never had any issues with it.
