Default H/C Numbers Please

Hey all. Well my brain finally caught-up to my heart and well... as much as I would LOVE to put on a turbo or add a S/C... financially I can not

I was looking at doing a cam swap for now and add a set of heads to the mix and call it a day. Ok here is the question...

What kind of numbers would I put down with my combo?? And secondly how much effect would this have on daily driving?

Before you all answer I know the numbers will be nowhere near what a turbo or S/C will give me.

Combo:
Comp Cams XR259HR 54-408-11 206/212dur 515/522lift 112LSA OR
Comp Cams XR265HR 54-412-11 212/218dur 522/529lift 114LSA

Absolute Speed LS1x heads Port Vol-208cc Comp ratio=10.7:1 Valve size: 2.00-1.55

Thanks For Any Info

I don’t think that setup will make very much power at all…

I would go with AS 5.3 or LS6 heads and a larger cam. For a cam, the F13 from Futral works well with the AS heads and will get you close to the 430-450 mark depending on a few variables.

And before everyone and their brother comes in saying to go with AFR’s… Just take your time and do the research before you order anything.

Know what? I never even looked at what you were putting this in, I assumed…

I really couldn’t say what would I would put in a Avalanche. Are you just looking for a little more performance than stock? Or do you intend to go all out and maybe race it?

Jerm.... just better streetability. More power under the curve to get this 6100lb beast moving. Nothing serious just a little umph.

Since you have the 5.3 engine already, why don’t you send your heads to AS and get the S2.5 job done to them. Then I would give Futral Motorsports a call for a cam suggestion. They have some small cams that make good power and they should have one that wouldn’t be over kill for your application.
