Rocker Arms
Any real benefits and gains going from a stock rocker arm to a non ajustable roller? If so what can be expected power wise and what is a good brand to go with.

Less valvetrain noise,
Less friction
Better valve centering at point of V contact
Less binding
less twisting, none if they are shaft
perhaps a few more ponies?
Less chance of getting bearings in your oil pan

[QUOTE=mrr23]well the VHP 1.89 accelerated lift rockers are the adjustable type. but here's dyno graphs anyway. tq peak isn't right there was a spike at the beginning of the run.
Going from the factory 1.7 ratio to a 1./9- you are going to get longer effective cam duration which could account for much of the power gains. Does anyone have any graphs of a back to back pull between the stockers and a set of aftermarket 1.7 rollers?
Thanks
Ben

PZ hit it right on the money. I just picked up a set of slightly used YT 1.7 shaft mount roller tip roller rockers. I expect very little for hp gains(might be a few peak, but I won't know, since they'll be installed same time as cam install, 231/237). What I do expect is strengthened drivetrain. More rigid. Definitely more reliable. My car has 62k miles on it, and putting a cam in it, I did not want to risk finding a **** load of bearings in my oil pan when I go to put heads on her in the winter/early spring. This should definitely help me avoid that. Pick you up a set of used rockers, I got this set and they could pass for new. They apparently have 2k miles on them...but you couldn't tell. Its a good insurance policy. Between these, the chromemoly pushrods, and PP Gold Dual springs...my valvetrain will be good to go. Then I'll just have stock lifters!!

Not sure you will see any gains going with the 1.7 rollers. Mostly piece of mind. I gained 15rwhp with the 1.8 HS rockers (bought them from Nasty). And then 21 more when I stuck a Hot Cam under them!

I just finished installing mine (HS 1.8s). On my stock cam, the RRs were also pretty quiet (quieter than the stock rockers). I'm scheduled for a dyno in 2 weeks, I'm curious to see if I picked up any decent peak hp.
