Disappointing 60'/ET - advice?
Finally got my ET Streets on (26x11.5x16) and headed out to MMP hoping for low 1.8 60's. Weather was 55 deg, humidity 85%. Best 60' on street tires was 1.98, with 12.9X ET.
Cooked the tires pretty well, and they hooked on the first three passes, but all the 60's were in the 1.93 - 1.98 range. ET same as w/street tires - 12.9XX. I had the pressures at 16 lbs, and launched at idle once, 1000 rpm twice. Matted the throttle off the line, and like I said, it dead hooked - zero spin. Loaded it up to 1400 for the fourth pass and it wheel hopped to a 2.04.
Car has lid/cutout and not much else. Am I being unrealistic in my expectations, or is this just about all it should be capable of without a verter?
TIA for any experience you can give this racing rookie!

You are going to actually slow down with the ET streets unless you have a converter that will cause traction issues. The rolling resistance is eating up your 60 ft and ET. Try running the psi at 25-28 and see if it helps, but Nittos or BFGs are best if you are running the stock converter. Get a good stall and that car will come alive. These cars should come stock with at least a 3500. It will be the best decision you ahave ever made. Trust me. Good luck!

I didn't see LS1Edit or HPP3 or Predator in your sig. With an A4 you need to get rid of Torque Management from you car's stock computer setting. That should help it a lot. I have no numbers to prove it, but my car certainly feels like it launches harder & runs stronger from 0-20mph. And the car squats when it hits 2nd gear now.
Although a Torque Converter will help too, now that you have Nittos & can hook that kind of power up. If you have the money, I'd do both!

et streets are way to much tire for a stock car...
you need nittos because like the above said et streets are actaully gonna slow you down. I took 16inch nittos to a 1.58 60 and 11.95 stock internals on a vig3600
so you wont need et streets unless you start doing heads/cam work
right now your not gonna see much below a 12.9 untill you get stalled
