Default "?" on Rollbars, I know- not again

Has NEone used or seen a Jegs Rollbar installed? I have seen the Wolfe and it is nice, but living in paradise is not ez on the shiping charges. I can get the 8pt Jegs for around $144 w/shipping running at $140-$170 vs. the Wolfe 6pt at a few hundred more on item with similar shipping. I am looking at being the guinea pig for the LS1's (at least here in Hawaii) if nobody has used/seen one. ALL input on Jegs rollbars welcome. TIA. Charlie.

Buddy of mine here has one. It's a good kit, but not a direct-fit kit. I think all the tubing is oversidez so you cut it down for your own fitment. For the money, you really can't go wrong. He opted to only make his into a 5 point though.

xaon-Can you get in touch with him and get maybe a little more specific like: where the tubes had to be cut-to-fit, was it in a flat angle or on the notched end bars(*makes a BIG difference on labor which may make up for the offset price)? I guess, was it on the all the pieces, the hoop (being too tall, ez fix), the crossbar (too long, ez fix), the door bars (cut em on the front edge therefore saving the notched ends , less labor) NE problems with the rear bars? Where do the rear bars mount-the speakers, just inside the speaker area or more towrds the center or is it more flexible in that area? I really appreciate your help. Thanks. Charlie.

All the cuts were on the flat ends i'm pretty sure. Hoop was too tall, not sure if they had to cut the crossbar down any, not a big deal if it did though. The doorbars had to be cut.

The rear bars mount on the back shelf above the gas tank. They're a little flexible on exactly where they will go at.

xaon-You dont know how nuch you just helped me out. The thought of paying the grand for a Wolfe (not to say they aint worth it, just not for my Army paycheck stealing ***) when I can get a decent alternative for several hundred less is discomforting, now I have my answer will hopefully be ordering tomorrow so it can be installed while I am away for a couple weeks. Can't wait, thanks again man. Charlie.

I dont want to be a dick about this, but why not talk to a local shop about doing a from scratch install. I paid $750 bucks for a 6 pt weld in cage, with interior removal and replacement included in the price.
I wanted a custom setup on my cage, to compensate for my long legs and my abuse of Burger King Whoopers (6'4" 300lbs). I dont doubt those companies offer excellent kits, but the prices are pretty expensive. A good race shop should be able to set up anything you need. Plus do any custom work you would like (swing outs, extra crossbar etc.)
Just my .02 cents.

FAST SS on NOS, well, if you havent yet read the bottom line of my posts (the part that tells my location) then look again. I friggin live in Hawaii!
1)ALL parts are expensive-even the ricers pay more
2)there is absolutely zero, 0, nada, zilch, mandrel benders on island. Used to be ONE, yes, just one, but they got rid of it or it broke or some ****.
3)Although there is an abundance of welding shops here, there is severe lack of Chromoly; I was offered a buy-in for a bundle of Chromoly tubing, my share $1500, of which is half the MINIMUM cost to ship it here etc....
4)Because we race EVERY weekend, with the rare exception of rain, only two rainouts in the last 10 months, most of the crafty people are too involved between trying to make a living with the Cost of Living so high and then working on their own rides. For one of them to stop to help out often would be like Bill Gates dropping a hundred dollars and losing money if he didnt make any in the time it takes to pick it up.

It just sounds really nice to hear about the mainlands sticky tracks, fabrication specialists, and all that, oh yeah the fact that in damn near every state happens to be a LS1 specialist shop wher eyou can drive and pick up, or have made whatever you like. Sorry but paradise isnt all its cracked up to be(and to think Uncle Sam has sent me here twice now). I think I will just order the Jegs and suck up the $180 shipping for a $144 part!
