Default Here they are!! completed interior pics, (Speed inc carpet and Corbeau Forza Seat)

Here you go <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I am exhausted!! Thanks to Lorie (my wife) for helping me with the carpet!

Thanks to Tom the Roofer for the seat adapter plate trick. It worked like a charm!!

I think the interior turned out really really well. This is going to be my "race" trim from now on.

Let me know what you think <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Looks great Chris. I'm glad I could help. I got to get me a pair of those seats. They look awesome. How much lighter are they than the Summit seats you have? It really does look trick.

how'd the lightweight carpet install go? did you have any trouble getting it flat, conforming, etc? nice looking setup there.

Looks good, Chris!

So, are you gonna let us in on the seat adapter trick from Tom? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Thanks for the compliments guys <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

The seat weight is 16 pounds. (Little heavier than the Summit seat (which is 12 pounds I think) but looks really nice))

The adapter plate is simply a square 16x16inch piece of 3/16ths flat stock aluminum plate. You line everything up and drill holes for the stock mounting points to mount the plate on the stock bracket. Then you line up the aftermarket seat where you want it and drill another four holes for it.

Works really well and the seat is really stable too.

The carpet was a bit tough to install with the rollbar. I found it is molded pretty well in the front part of the car but the back seats and over the rear deck isnt as great. I am going to use two sided carpet tape to get everything smoother.

It is such a relief getting the car finished...

Now I just need a 5 point harness, firejacket, rims screwed and an oil change. All ready for opening weekend April 5th <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I am considering picking up a grant steering wheel as well. I am thinking about ditching the airbags, HVAC and heater core and going with a summit lightweight heater like Tom's for defrost only.

That will get rid another 30 pounds and not affect the appearance inside the car at all.

If you guys have any other questions feel free to ask. BTW I left the sound insulation on the carpet as it only weighs about 3 pounds.

Chris, you mentioned you had the older style Summit seats. So did I at one time, but I bought the newer style and they are considerably lighter. I didn't weigh them but I did the old pick one up, raise it up and down, then repeat the process on the other seat and my guess they are about 4 to 5 lbs lighter. The newer style is supposed to be a lower profile and they have a recessed area on the seat back to bolt up the seat to the roll cage.

Chris </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">How did you know how much the sound insulation weighed if you didn't take it off, lol. I did take it off and it weighed 3 lbs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> It was a real major PITA to get some of it off.

I worked my car all day today. I adjusted my new suspension limiters (thanks to THE BeaSST) for the technical help, I adjusted my new bolt on / pin on hood. I had to put 1" diameter furniture rubber pads on to extend the adjusters.

I installed the screws in my rims. They were already drilled. I took off my 6-1/2" back spacing wheels with the sportsman pro street tires and installed the 7-1/2" back spacing rims with the MT 28" X 10- 1/2" slicks. I think I have enough room to go to at least a 29" tire and possibly a 30". I did a few more odds and ends too.

I want to have that it's such a relief to get the car finished feeling like you do. Maybe someday. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I won't be long now.

Good luck with the new set up Chris. Car looks GREAT.

hehehe Tom <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I knew it was three pounds cause you mentioned you weighed it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Also I had to remove some to make room for the seat studs etc and it was very light. (Not heavy like OEM)

I CANT wait to hear/see/watch your car run Tom, you have been waiting a long time!!

Coach how did your quest for tens go? Were there more problems with the tranny than you first thought?

thanks guys,
Chris
