me(97 ws6) vs 02 ws6
had alot of runs just about an half hour ago, both are cars where m6's and about the same mods, first race we went from a roll around 30 to 65 when we he had to break fast for a car in his lane. i had the nose of his car held at the middle of my door. i then suggested we go to a better more open spot so he agreed and we went from a dead stop. i was ahead by like a fender till he missed third. we again went same result except this time he was ahead a fender or so and pulling i miss a shift. alot of the other runs were like a 1st gear roll, amn did that ls1 pull hard, i kept up and occasionally a lil ahead(fender or so) but that thing really did outproform me/ the best run he had after was typical ls1 vs lt1 we were close till like 70 then he gained about 1 1/2 to 2 cars on me and shut down. the guy driving was real nice and complimented my car i did the same and we went our ways. great to finally have some clean runs with an ls1 T/a even if i got outrun.

Sounds like a pretty exciting race I've only raced one LT1 with my LS1 and it was from a 50 punch and it amounted to an instant owning. He was a bonestock A4 to my full bolt on LS1 M6 so it wasn't really a fair race. Sounds like you've got yours running a little better than that though .

btw one mod i forgot to lit although minor is i replaced the convoluted rubber thingy that goes from the maf to the tb with a 3in to 4in rubber rudeucer for pvc pipe, i figure it flows more air and smoother than the stock piece. dont look to bad ghetto smooth air bellow ...4$

Well man, it sounds like you have a strong LT1. I ran a stock LT1 (it was a 94 or 95) when my 02 SS was stock, and it amounted to some pretty good ownage. He was about 4 cars back by the time I hit 90, and he was fading fast. Unfortunately, that was my only experience racing one...regardless, nice races.
