Default TSP Cam with ARE heads?

About a year and a half ago I had an ARE stage 2 heads/cam installed. Anyway I'd like to put in the TSP 231/237 112 cam. Does anyone know if I'll be able to run this cam. My installer says he's pretty sure it would clear since the heads weren't milled much..but that a piston to valve clearence test would need to be done. Anyone of a way to determine this that I can do on my own? Does the new cam need to be in to do it?

Thanks for any help.
