Mach I Mustang goes down
Alright this is kind of an old kill, but still a kill none the less. About six months ago I was coming home late and got behind a teal green mustang at a red light. Due to the lack of GT badges, I thought it was just a V6 and not worth messing with. I did see the Mach I badge in the rear and the fugly Mach I rims, but at that time I hadn't heard or seen anything about a new Mach I. I knew they used to have Mach I mustangs quite a few years ago, so I figured this guy just put some retro badges on his car. Anyway, back to the point. The light turned green and he kinda jumped it out of the hole ahead of the car next to him giving me enough room to get in the lane next to him. When he did this I could tell he wasn't packing a V6. When I pulled up next to him, he got the jump and netted an early lead, but I wasn't far behind. As soon as I hit third, I started reeling him in like a fish. By the top of third, it was all over; I had at least a car length on him. I wanted to talk to him and find out more about his car, but he slowed down and turned around. Since then, I have learned some more about Mach I's. I know it's not like beating an 03 Cobra, but I think it's a respectable kill for a basically stock Z.

I said it was teal green not plain green. Maybe even more of an aqua color. Do they come in aqua?
Also remember this was late at night and I am no color expert.

Alright I looked up an azure blue Mach I (the closest color match to teal or aqua), and that definitely was not the color of the car I was racing. I guess it was a GT. Oh well, it's still a Mustang kill, and if it would have been a real Mach I, it still would have been a kill.

I'm with all the rest of the people here I doubt that it was a real Mach1.. If he did get the jump on you the way you said he did. It would take you alot more then the start of 3rd to catch one. If you can catch one anyway.. I really doubt that someone would go and paint a new Mach1 some other color then what they came with.. Spectially some type of green.. Green is just ugly IMO... By the way what kind of times do you run in the 1/4 and what trap speed.. That will let us know a little more of what kind of car it really was.. My Mach with just a catted X pipe, catback exhaust, 4.10 gears and sticky tires ran mid 12's on a 90 deg. day in August..
