i plan on getting true duals in the not too distant future and i was wondering with my setup if 3" would be too much...i plan on dumping before the axel and using dynomax mufflers...do you guys think ill have enough back pressure for the motor..i dont want to over do it, but i also plan to continue modding the car

3" will be fine, but if you're having any problems with ground clearance. Then 2.5" would be better.

Either way.. it's gonna be LOUD

Yes it is, but you will love it. I have 3" and as long as I hit bumps and rises at angles, I do fine as far as clearance.

First, capitalization and punctuation go a long way.

Second, this is in the wrong forum, and its bordering on hijacking someone else's topic.

Third, if you're only trapping 100 it isn't very quick on the highway.

Forth, stop buying SLP parts.

Fifth, you probably have 3.23 or 2.73 gears if its stock.

Sixth, get a bigger stall, a 2200 will get you laughed at.

Seventh, people have been to the 11's with just bolt ons, but don't count on it.

I just build a custom 3"(dual) system for my vette and its actually quieter than with the 2.5". I'm on a 346 + agressive H & C.

think of it this way, your collectors are gunna be 3", so why not keep maximum flow all the way back.

Why not? Clearance on lowered cars.

Dual 3 inch might lose some power on a stock motor below 3K but above that should only make more hp and tq.

I didn't mean that it was needed, just that it probably wouldn't LOSE rwhp. Based on open header / cutout dynosheets.

3" is fine. 2.5" if you are lowered or plan to be. I have great clearance on stock height. No tip toeing over bumps, no scraps, and I pull up my inclined driveway without a problem. I know I definately gained over my ORY setup. Shaved a 10th off my time with all things being equal (my shitty lauch) and I kept trimming some off once I got better. Check my sig for numbers, pics and clips. I just think things should be consistant (same diameter as collectors) and symmetrical (thus duals). Good Luck

so 2.5 would yield me better low end...i would like to keep the low end that i have...the cam already zapped some of it so if 3" is gonna take from it compared to a 2.5 then i may end up going 2.5 instead

well i got my 3" duals yesterday.....some of the best money ive spent. my car sounds like death. the best part about it is that the car is actually a bit quieter and not so obnoxious. the drone is about the same(which isnt bad) and its quiet in the cabin, even with the windows down. I have dumps btw

True duals = wholesome goodness
