Please Sanity check my HPTune
Hi all -
Ive been looking around at the .bin repository sites and just snooping other peoples bins in general. My tune seems way different than alot of other peoples. Can you guys give me you input as to weather im on the right track or Im barking up the wrong tree. Mods in sig.
My IFR table is tuned way lower than most others. 3.14 @ 0 through 3.57 @ 80
My PE table is 1.165 @ 0 and 1.160 @ 7200, again much lower than most
My VE is still mostly stock with very few tweaks.
My MAF table is scaled by 1.22 and tweaked to match my ported MAF to my stock MAF.
Can you guys offer me any advice? I dont have wideband, and I simply tuned using a g-tech. My histogram shows the avg. LTFTs -2 to -4 with a couple +/- a point.
Thanks,
-Tony

Here's a link to my .bin if you want to see just how mangled and out of what it has become.

Do you have stock injectors?
Upping the MAF table by 22% would explain why your PE is lower than most - you have added more fuel in this way. Sounds like your fuel trims are in line.
Are you getting any KR?
What are your O2s reading at WOT?
How does it feel? Power? Throttle response?

Yes, I have stock injectors. My PE was set lower originally using my stock MAF. The MAF adjustment was only to compensate for the ported MAF, not to adjust anything else.
I think it has more to do with ading a bunch of fuel via the IFR and then leaning it back out via PE. I had to add fuel to get my LTFTs negative once i put the long tube headers in.
I have very little KR anywhere. Here and there ill get a little at part throttle and also ill get one or two instances at WOT, depending on the weather. The drivability is good. Throttle response seems fine. o2's are right on target at WOT 890 - 910, but I dont rely on these.
Thanks

seems like your in pretty good shape. FWIW, my truck's stock IFR is 3.18 and I have set it as low as 2.95 (this is with 25-26lb stock injectors). Also leaned out my PE a bunch from stock, but I have a LM-1 wideband to check the AFR and do this safely.

Why is the IFR modified?
If you get out the tailpipe, what you command in the
PE table, then 1.15 would give you 12.8:1.The stock
program is just kooky rich. Your PE value is pretty
"normal".
I would say to reset your IFR table to match the
real fuel delivery / components (I'mguessing it was
fattened up to compensate for leanness, which
mostlikely is the MAF's fault) and keep trimming on
the MAF table until you see wideband results at
>4000RPM start to match the commanded AFR in
power enrichment.

The IFR was actually modified to richen up my part throttle once I put headers on. It was modified while I still had my stock MAF on with the stock MAF tables. I guess its more popular now to tune part throttle using MAIN VE, however because i dont understand the first thing about it no matter how much I read, i decided to use the old fashioned method of using the IFR to get my LTFTs back inline.
How would you suggest I tune for my mods from altering the stock .bin? My LTFTs were positive 10 to 15 with headers and the rest of the mods. Id like to tune as much as possible on the street without wideband since im poor and cant afford dyno time around here. I do still have a un molested MAF that I can put back on - although my MAF table seems to be pretty well adjusted for the ported MAF judging by past and present LTFTs and o2 readings.
Thanks much everyone!
