Default A couple questions with pics!!!

Alright.. changed my valve seals on my heads tonight. I'd like to know what kind of seals these are that I just removed.

Also, I got to take a peak at the top of the valves. What the heck is this on the top of this valve? Its an intake valve by the way.

Heads were done by a local shop back home. I've never seen seals like this either.

Anyone else have a clue what brand they are?

Those are typical teflon seals. They suck.

Looks like carbon buildup on the valve too from oil in the intake stream and/or just combusion gases that get past the intake valve during overlap.

Those are perfect circle teflon seals ,thought by some to be the best in the business
when properly installed. The problem is people don't put the protector over the valve stem when they install the seal, the seal gets cut and you cant see it.Now the motor
smokes the and the seals get blamed when it was install error. You can not pull the valves on this set up without changing the seals as the keeper grooves or valve tip can tear a portion of the seal. These seals were the standard in the industry for years
and can still be used with the proper installation procedure.
