Default Anyone paint there own rear like the Berger cars?

I was wondering if anyone painted there rear like the Berger cars.I was wondering what kind of paint you used and what prep you did to make it stick. And alos Any pics would help.I just did my rims and they turned out good.I just ordered the grand sport stripes.I have a white z so i though it would look good.

I didn't paint it my self, bought a new panel and had it painted at my buddy's shop.

I did mine..

There isn't very much to it..
Remove.. sand with 400 grit to roughen it up a bit.. I then cleaned it and sprayed it with a layer of automobile primer. I then wet sanded the primer ( it was the rough kind) so it had to be sanded/wetsanded. I used a primer sealer next. Only one coat of this..

Then I used Rustoleum Satin black paint.. 3 coats.

Here's how it turned out:

i did it the easy way, bought on on ebay for 25 bux...in black of course, and put the 3D inserts...

I got the panel for free from a guy. I painted it with low gloss black engine paint by duplicolor. (sanded with 400 then 800 wet)





Emblem off ebay for 5 bucks and inserts from brent's vinyl for 8 bucks

Wow! That's extremely smooth and even for a spray can job! Very nice!

I did mine with spray cans as well. Same basic process as above!

I'd be interested in seeing pics of your wheels. I've got a white SS and am trying to figure out which wheels to go with. By the way, the black Berger rear looks outstanding on white. I did mine the same way as everyone else - just used a rattle can.

Turned out good man! I did mine the same way, cant beat it for the price.

Reminds me of the mid 70's Type LT Camaros. The back panel used to come painted from the factory like that.

Is it difficult to remove the stock panel and replace it with one that is black? Or even just to take it out, re-paint it in black, and then put it back?

Easy as cake to remove...
4 - 10mm bolts and you're good to go.. Just remember to remove the taillights first.. haha..

that emblem looks good on your car. and brent is a great guy to deal with.
