Default What would you do with $700?

I have $700 to spend on the 99Z. It needs a new muffler at the least. I'm slrongly leaning towards the GMMG cat back, but, was checking around, and I can get Slp's flo-pac, bellows, and LM w/slash tips for about the same price. I think I'm gonna stay with the origional plans and get the GMMG. I can get intake stuff later.

If I were you, I'd get the GMMG...if you want to save money in the long run, don't get SLP stuff. In general, their stuff is overpriced and their claims about their products' power gains tend to be a little on the overboard side.

Drive up to Houston and give Nineball $675 and he'll hand you a brand new GMMG catback with the wide oval tips. Best deal in the country.

Thanks Patrick. I sent Nine Ball a pm. Hope to hear back from him soon. I was going to order one with the standard tips. I'm not sure how the oval tips will look on a Z. I hated missing the GP last month, but I didn't have the money in hand then.

If you get the GMMG, you will LOVE the sound. I've heard not to get the flo-pac and just get a lid. You can get a used tsp lid in the parts section right now for 40 bucks. They wont last long though, I got a smoke lid. Back to your question, if you want premium sound and some power get GMMG. If you want power the most do what LS1sounds said. However, personally I do NOT favor the oval tips on camaros. You might be able to pull it off with a body kit, but without one. It's too much tip for me. Oval's for da boids.

I almost jumped on it, but decided to keep my headers instead. Good luck with it. If he still has it come Jan I'll prolly pick it up.

SLP makes quality stuff - "you get what you pay for", and their power gains are comparable to everything else out there. With that being said, pay for the GMMG, you'll be glad you did, in the long run (especially since it sounds like you can get them at a good price). Then go for the intake side. When it's time for LT's you had better research the grade of steel they use as well as coating - cause performance wise they're all the same. Wear-wise, they're not. Good Luck

For $700 - I'd do two chicks at the same time!

Have you checked out a tru-dual setup?

If you do decide to go the GMMG route (which I wouldn't do personally because you could get duals out the back for that) definately get the upgraded oval tips. There are people on here wanting to buy them all the time, so they would be NO PROBLEM to make money selling them. Then you can put whatever tips you want on it. JMO

And you'd have to run them open since you couldn't afford a Y-pipe to go with them!

Hahaha. I picked up Kooks 1 3/4 SS & their y-pipe for a total of like $750, barely used. There are some great deals out there if you can find them.

That's true, you could always hold out and try to find a nice set of used parts... I've been burnt before buying used parts though, so that option usually doesn't enter my mind. I only buy stuff locally now that I can get my hands on before shelling out the cash.
