Noob to F-bodies
Whats up everyone. I just got out of the Airforce and Live in Carol Stream, Il. I just purchased a 98 z28 black A4 Camaro. Got it for $9300 with 59k miles on the clock. I also own a a 99 red cavalier with a turbo and best time with that was 14.2@99.8mph before I got it dyno tuned. Just wanted to say hi and looking to hook up my camaro here shortly. Plan on doing simple stuff for now like flow pack, tb, maf, ls6 intake, longtube, off road y-pipe, random tech exhaust, tci 3500 stall, pullies, brakes, some suspension, and tuning by speed inc. I also had a run in with a fellow ls1tech member the other night. He has a silver z28 with plates that said NUKEM SS. Very nice ride and sounded good. And yeah, he spanked me.

Welcome.
I'm not too far from you. I also have a '98 Z28, silver though. Just recently sold my red '00 WS6 that was pretty well modified. The Z28 has just bolt-ons only.
Sounds like a good plan for your new car, except I would skip the aftermarket MAF...... not worth it IMO.
Try visiting the midwest section. Lots of us chicagoland people hang out there.....

Don't buy the SLP flowpack or the aftermarket MAF. You can buy any lid, fernco/hump hose for smooth bellows, and CAI (FTRA comes to mind) and the total will be less than the flowpack. It is highly recommended to leave the MAF alone ESPECIALLY with an auto. Other than that it looks like you are definately headed in the right direction. Don't forget some drag radials (like Nittos).
