Drag Racing Tech - Is a drag racing rear sway bar worth it for my targets?

Target #1
I want to run a low to mid 11 on motor eventually.

Target #2
I want to run a low to mid 10 on spray.

Target #3
I'd like to do it with street tires.

Target #4
I HAVE to keep the car drivable on the street.

I've already done:
BMR Boxed SFC's
BMR CM LCA's
BMR CM STB (damn that's a lot of acronyms LOL)
Spohn CM XD Torque Arm.
QA1 shocks
Planning on CM K-member and upper/lower A-arms.
Also figuring in a 5 pt CM roll cage someday too.
(Just working on some very mild weight savings)

What I'm wondering for my goals is, do I really need something like the BMR XD sway bar setup to run a low to mid 10? Would the benefits outweigh the sacrifices (including costs)?

Thanks everyone.

i think a heavy duty rear sway bar is a great addition to any car. do i think it's 100 % necessary? probably not. I have the wolfe rear drag bar and it's a HD piece. It's very stiff and street driving is hampered a bit when pulling into parking lots, but then again my whole suspension is a rod end setup. So i'm a bit more extreme. It helps keep the car perfectly even coming out of the whole which i liked alot better than my old '98 Z pulling only the front left tire.

I think so, or atleast get an airbag for the right rear. With the stock swaybar my car twists up like a prezel when leaving on the bottle. And that's only cutting 1.60s on drag radials.

I have a Spohn drag sway bar w/ adjustable rod ends. It deffinately hepls keep the car launching evenly, driving on the street is a much harsher ride, you feel every bump+ pothole. As far as racing on street tires thats crazy with big power, you`ll wonder why you did when your car is into the guardrail at the track :bang: .

street tires? please define. because if it is radials all you are going to do is go sideways with any decent amount of power.

Then would a MT ET street drag radial handle a mid 10?

MT ET streets are not drag radials, they're DOT slicks.

I think he means the new MT E/T radial. They should handle mid 10s no problem with a half decent suspension set up.

I think sacrifice smack-the-rice! Dragbar definately worth it to me, so I am looking at the Wolfe single myself.

Good luck on your goals and yeah stick to the sticky DR for your goals!
