Ported heads - what to seal intake rocker bolts with?
When you guys are installing ported heads, where the intake port runs through the bolt hole for the rocker, what are you guys using to seal the threads to keep oil from seeping into the intake through the bolt hole? I remember heaing threadlocker, but I'm worried if I put that on I won't get the correct torque value on the rocker bolts, or it might heat up and leak into the intake too! I searched to no avail.
Also, is it ok to cut off the very tip of the rocker bolt so it does not protrude into the port, and sits flush?
Thanks

I would use permatex aviation sealer. It will not throw off the torque reading and you wont have a problem pulling the bolts out when you need to.
there is nothing wrong with cutting the bolts.

Yeah I figured between fuel, oil, and probably very high temps, that even high temp might start to run on me.
I will see if I can find aviation sealer, otherwise I'll go with the teflon paste, or lastly the green loctite.
Jason, yeah got some AFR 205's going on right now, been a fun project thus far! I'll send ya a link to some in progress pics when I get a little farther along and put them online.
