Default Advancing a cam question.

I have a 242/248 .610/.615 114+2 LSA. My question is can I advance my cam with my double roller timing chain 2-4* to bring down the powerband without causing and valve clearance issues or any othe problems?

You're going to have to check after you change the timing. That's the only way to be sure.

I would say no. As is you probably have nothing for clearence. If I were to have done that cam I would have put 2 degrees of retard in it.

Wouldn't that have pushed the powerband even further up?

it will bring the peak power up a bit higher..yes...but, it will give you more P to V clearence..which is wayyy more important.
