Getting a cam
I'm trying to get a cam. I don't know where to get it from and I don't understand all that lift and exhaust figures. What would be a good cam for power but still street drivable and give that nice lopey sound. I am planning to get stage 2 heads and so on. so should I wait until I get the heads or just geat a cam for now?

GO HERE
go there and read it slowly, carefully, and fully. That should anwser all of your questions. You can get the cam now and then add heads later down the road. A lot of people run TR224(thunderracing.com) for street applications. I have also seen a lot of people praising Futrals F13 cam(futralmotorsports.com).

the way i look at it, heads and cam should be a package deal so if you want to get heads, do it all together. I'd do a search on the TR224.. very popular mild cam that many people run in their daily drivers. If you are looking for a little bit of a larger cam and more power I'd do a seach on the fm13 or tsp torquer (the cam i plan to have in my car).. good luck on your search

When your are serious about what kind of set up you want you should get ahold of Don Kinder (slowhawk). He's in Mass, the guy is a really good tuner (tons of people swear by him). He does installs on the side and also works for DEZ racing. You can catch up with him in the eastern section.
With a good tuner you can get away with slightly larger cam and still be street friendly. There are so many on the market now it can be really tough to pick one. I've always liked the track results from the TSP 231/237 and will probrably go with that as a good all around cam this spring. Also, is your car an auto or M6? If it's an Auto you'll have to take into consideration what converter and gear set up you want to run.
