Those with triple a-pillar pod come in
Im getting ready to install a 2 1/16" triple pillar pod as soon as we get a warm day around here. Im installing a carbon fiber electric trans temp gauge & air/fuel gauge and leaving the third hole open for a fuel pressure gauge later on. How does everyone run the wires up to the pillar? I know the wires go behind the pillar to the gauges but how do you route the wires below, through the dash? Does the dash have to be pulled or hole drilled?
And how many wires will run up the pillar for an autometer carbon fiber electric fuel pressure gauge. Im going run the wires up to where the gauge would go so when im ready all i have to do is hook up the wires and pop the gauge in without pulling the pillar. -Thanks

You should be able to route the wires down to near your steering wheel. Unbolt/unscrew the panel under your steering wheel and you'll have a straight shot up to where the pillar meets the dash. I used a clothes hanger to route the wires through as there is some stuff in the way. If I recall the fuel pressure gauge will have 6 wires. 3 are the wiring harness for the sender, and then you have power, ground, and illumination. Also, unlike the other gauges, the fuel pressure gauge has a pig tail that plugs into the back of the gauge.

I'll hijack a little...
What guages are you guys using to fill the triple pod? I want one in my car but the only thing I see needed is the tranny temp. Boost when the time comes and what else??? I dont want A/f b/c it would drive me nuts. everything else is on the dash cluster.

trans temp -good idea with an auto & a must with a big stall converter
fuel pressure -if you have the $$$

What you need to do is drill three holes in the FACTORY A-pillar behind each gauge, then run the wires through. The wires just run on the inside of the pillar and down. I can't remember exactly where I put mine. When you get it all apart you will see. You dont need to take apart the dash, but you do need to remove the factory a-pillar, and then reuse it for the install.

triple pillar
I drilled mine behind each gauge, and then took the panel under the column off, and fished them through with a piece of wire hooked to them and down to the firewall. Used the carbon gauges.

thank you,
i don't have a supercharger or turbo.
i have triple pillar guage and only have the fuel air ratio meter, i am looking to get 2 more meters but don't know what to get.
i have the c2 meter from autometer, i would like something to match that or something with a nice blue glow at night.
i had bought it cause i like the way it looks

What's the best place to run the wires thru the firewall? I have Cobalt fuel pressure & boost gauges, they each have a connector on each end of their wire harness so the hole will have to be 1" diam according to the directions. Also I'm installing an AEM WB O2, I am considering coming thru the floor of the car for that.

Easiest way is cut the ends off the fuel pressure and the other wires that require a large hole. Drill a small hold somewhere in the firewall near the steering column and feed them through. Then splice the ends you cut off back into the wiring harness and you're good. For wideband O2, I routed mine up next to the transmission and through the shifter boot, then in the dash under steering wheel and up into guage in pillar.
