3.73s with a 2 series carrier?
Does anyone know if a company makes 3.73s for a stock 10 bolt with a 2 series carrier, I think that is what I have, its the stock rear end from a 99 trans am with 2.73s. Just converted to an m6 and I'm sick of driving around w/ 2.73s. Do I need to buy a 3 series carrier or do they make 3.42s, 3.73s etc. that will fit a 2 series. Thanks in advance for the input, Im a newbie.

Richmond makes a thick gear for a series two carrier they sell them through summitracing.com the part number is RMG-4900071
if you buy them you will feel a major difference i went from 2:73 to a 3:42 and i love them, richmond will whine though, but its not to bad.

yes they do..... look at thunder racings site and llok at thee gears and under 2 series carriers..... wha kind of power you looking at making??? my best advice would be to keep the cash you are wanting to spend on the gears and put it towards a 12 bolt..... or 9" the gears will never last..... i know.. and so do alot of other people on here...

I dont really go to the track that often, maybe once or twice a year. My car is my daily driver and I would rather it not whine, thats also a reason Im not going with 4.10s. I hear that Motive gears are good and don't whine. Also if I go with 3.73s with a two series carrier, will this make my gears weaker? I know people will say that the 10 bolt is weak but my car will probably never even see drag radials. Plus gears installed $400, 12 bolt or 9 inch, $2000.
