Hood Pin Conversion
Just did this last night in addition to swissing the hood some. It's still a work in progress--I'm planning on taking a lot more bracing out from under the hood and converting to a prop rod set-up. I didn't weigh everything yet, but I'm guessing it's around 10-15lbs so far.

hey come on now spanky, that v6 comment was a bit over the top, unless you know him personally or something. maybe, and i mean no offense by this, maybe he can't afford a v8 model. i agree as many have so far that the pins have to go, but no need to get rough with the new guy. just my oppinion. besides, weight reduction works for the positive on ANY car, even Honda's.

To Little G- Keep on modding. Man, its your car do whatever makes you happy. If it were MY car, I'd have done it differently, but its not. Keep up the hard work, and build it how YOU want to. Please take my (and other) criticism for what it is, opinion.

Little G, nice job on the 14.0 with stock internals, that's got to be pretty close to the record for a SI M5 3.8.
I'd prefer a less fancy finish for the hood pins but other than that I thinks it's cool.

As you said in an earlier post, regular hood pins would perform the same function, and look 500% better.

Yeah, I used a hole saw for the swissing. The hood struts are still in there for now. I just weighed everything so far and it turned out to be 10lbs. I'm gonna take out the struts and the strut bracing and convert to prop rod instead. I figure that would be another 10lbs or so. Race weight should now be around 3100.

v6 love you guys, i went 13.8 NA in my v6 so suck my *** haha. i miss it, you could mash the gas for a block, listen to power being made for some time, now i tap my throttle and im doin 60 haha.
props for the 14.0 na in an M5, i think the best i got was 14.0-2 na in my m5...id have to go look though for the exact number. i know the cam dropped me a bit but not anywhere near what it should of because of lack of tuning abilities back then. good luck with the car man! hope you can get it into the 12's na, that would be unreal.
