Default New idea for 5.7 badges on WS6 *PICS*

Well I had some free time today with nothing to do, so rather than wasting it, I got an early jump on one of my spring projects. First I removed the "Trans Am" letters on the side, then the side mouldings. What a pain that was...but completely worth it. I applied my MBA rear lettering, looks great of course.

Now for the best part...I had ordered two 5.7 (GTO) badges for the car because I had an idea for them that I thought might look nice. I was wrong...it looks AMAZING. Check it out...

Unfortunately it was night before I finished, so bright daytime pics will have to wait...here's an overall shot...

I thought this was a great pic of the MBA lettering...

Needless to say i'm very happy with today's project.

Both the 5.7 badges and the heat extractors are bright silver. They do look white in those pics though.

Looks good. (I wanna see some better angles, though)

Where/how much did you get the "5.7" emblems for?

Looks good! Now you just need to get your Trans Am and bird in the back changed. I know a guy who makes a really REALLY nice vinyl that looks just like billet alumnium and does those decals. I cant post the name cause i dont think he's a sponsor, but if you're interested PM me.

I had posted the info here, but I don't think the company is a sponsor, so i'll just PM you. Anyone else who wants to know just PM me.

I've got an extra pair that i'll be selling on here if my buddy doesn't want them.

That's actually the next phase to the project. Front and rear overlays. I was looking for plain silver or a brushed aluminum look. I don't want too much bling in any one area. I'm even ditching the chrome wheels for silver in a month or so.

You should replace the center piece with the CETA piece then instead of using overlays. I replaced mine with that part and it looks fabulous. Plus the part was only $6x.00 from the same place you ordered that emblem.

Any pics? I used to sell those cars but I can't remember for the life of me what the center panel looked like. I didn't think it was any different.

The word "Trans Am" is in silver and so is the bird...also the bird is just like the one on the front license plate cover as opposed to the LT1 style bird that's on there now. It looks awesome on a black TA. I'm out of town for work but I'll try to get some pics in the next couple days and post them for ya. I'll also get you the part #.

I think the 5.7 looks kinda outta place. The optimal spot is on the rear of the car under the driver side taillight, as a mirror of the WS6 emblem

Ahh...but that's what everyone does. I'm going for something original. So I guess looking out of place isn't really that bad.

Daytime pics...

how come you've got 16" T/A wheels on the WS6? Where'd the 17's go?

The garage (winter resting place). Looks like they're getting sold within the month to a friend who wants to use them on his 95 Z28 vert. I'm thinking about getting the Konig Profil Privat wheels in either 17" or 18". Probably 17" so I don't have to pay $250 a piece for decent tires.

I like the idea, but my personal oppinion is it reminds me of the old 5.0 emblems. That's the only reason why I wouldn't put it on there.

Looks good, just not sure I would do it.

I was waiting for someone to say that. That was my number one concern while considering this project. I was really afraid it would look like a 5.0 knockoff. But in person it really doesn't look even remotely close to the 5.0 badges. First - the 5.7 badge looks completely different, second - it's in a different position, and finally, the lines of the Trans Am have ABSOLUTELY nothing in common with a fox body stang. So I really don't think it's even slightly reminiscient of the 5.0 badges.

But that thought had crossed my mind.

Also of note...you would not believe how many Mustang owners know almost nothing about our cars. I've gotten more comments in the past three days because of these badges then i've gotten even with my LPE FRCs on. "Whoa that's the 5.7? How much more does it cost to get that engine?" or "Where did you find one with the 5.7L in it?" I guess everyone thinks that all muscle cars must have a 5.0 in them.
