Just wondering if there was any difference in the converter clutch and TCC regulator valve between the two OBD systems.

So then would it be true to say that all OBD-II 4L60E equipped GM vehicles had PWM?

The 4L60-E went to PWM on the TCC in early 1995. The front of the pump (behind the torque converter) will have PWM cast into the body. Most parts will not interchange between the PWM and earlier non-PWM units.

So then PWM was available on late OBD-I cars it would appear? Good info about the PWM cast into the front pump. I'm assuming you mean the pump on the actual tranny itself?

Yes to both. If you pull the converter off, on the pump cover itself will be cast in large letters, PWM. Can't miss it.
