Hey is it possible to make over 800rwhp with a nitrous fed 346cid? What setup do you need?

I thoroughly believe its possible. Ill say well built bottom end, solid roller for rpms, and staged or rpm based controller, big cam, great heads, and some serious exhaust flow.

SR not entirely necessary. But its easier to make 800 rwhp spinning to 7700 rpm than spinning to 6500 rpm. Especially if its staged by rpm...or rpm based.

Phil

I made 755 rwhp with my old setup. Not 800, but close enough.

Didn't East Side do it a couple years ago and run 8.9x something with it?

There's a bunch of sbc's out there making 1000 or more fwhp on gasoline, so an LS1 should be able to make 800 rwhp on NOS.

making 800 isnt the problem, if i went from my current 200 shot making 700 rwhp to a 300 jet i would be close to the 800, or i could jet it to a 350 and make 800, but pushing water seems to be an issue around the 700-750 mark, and im still tring to get the car setup with 700. then i will jet it up

800 RWHP should be easy with a bottle. Give it some time and you might see 1000

Excuse me for the noob-style question, but what does "pushing water" mean?

He means blowing a head gasket. I sprayed a 300 shot over 25 times on the same motor, never had a problem with head gaskets.

well, pushing water isnt blowing the gasket, when i say pushing water, i mean lifting the head and pushing a little water into the overflow.
every car i have seen making in the 700-750 range pushes a little water. the heads seem to lift just a tad, some times it does blow the gasket. Ive been lucky and i havent yet, but i did push water the last few times to the track do to a slight lean condition do to my fuel pump. she pushed about 1/2 qt of water, but we pulled the heads and the gaskets where fine.
the FI cars dont have that problem as bad because its a little slower of a power curve.
those l19 head studs (or somthing like that) Chris from APE could fill you in on that. seem to have a higher streangth, and they might help a tad.
my car pushed a tad over 700 with a 30 jet which is around a 250 shot with my kit, and it was ok on the dyno, i run a 28 jet now (200 ish) and on the dyno she was fine, but at the track my fuel pump couldnt keep up (thats why i did the stand alone) so she ran a little lean and pushed water. im keeping the same jets this season for a while, i'll see if she still pushes with the stand alone.
