Got a nail in my almost-new nittos
Noticed a few days ago that one of them seemed a little low on air pressure. I saw the nail yesterday, this weekend I'm going to take it to have the hole plugged. This may be a stupid question but, I really shouldn't go to the track with a plugged tire, right? Can burnouts + hard launches cause the plug to come out?

Yeah I use a bobcat for work and Ive pulled the plug out of the tires before. So I would think doing burnouts could do it too. If I were u I would have the tire patched. They take the tire off the rim and fix it from the inside. This is a much better way to go IMO. It should be safer too.

The same thing happend to me when I had 2 brand new nittos put on the back of my car at the same time my converter was being installed. I got in the car with the guy that was tuning it and went to go test it out and sometime in the 10 minutes of driving I picked up two nails. Talk about pissed off

I worked at a garage for almost 10 years and plugged countless tires. I've had a few plugs in my own tires and have run them at the track no problem. I plugged bald tires and burned the hell out of them with no problems. But, A patch is deffinatly a better way to go. Like the saying goes, pay a little now or a lot later.

Patch it is then. I'm going to get it ixed this weekend, I know theres no sidewall damage because it is a small nail, and it is in the middle of the tread. Thanks for the tips .
