I was filling up with 93 @ 2.40 per gallon and this guy comes out of the store and after looking at my big *** air filter sticking thru the hood asks - "Is that turbo?" After about 5 seconds of silence I responded "nah.." His face got sort of "My car is faster than yours then" look.. His was 2nd gen eclipse gs-t with body kit, rims, spoiler. He asked me what i got done to it because he heard me pull up. I just said "nothing much just stock rotary with exhaust". He believed me, at that point I was thinking ("WOW") He started telling me how quick his car was blah blah I asked him if he wanted to run and he said "uhh..okay" with the impression that its not even worth racing me because his car is so much faster. well we're driving on a 2 lane double yellow highway and i get on the opposite side near him..no honks..he just guns it. (it was 35 mph role i was in 1st gear btw). I was sideways entire 1st gear like usuall..was already infront of him like a car length... MISSHIFT 2nd..By time i got it in 2nd He still hasn't passed me and i go waaay sideways thru entire gear again gaining like 2 cars lengths..I shifted back into the right lane...and right after i shifted to 3rd i went sideways again while passing mustang gt on the double yellow again and let go at around 110. gs-t passed the mustang too but it was many lengths behind.
We got to the light he sais "I thought my **** was quick"

I bought the car as is for 5.7K. Guy did a pretty good job with the conversion, but I had to change like every gasket out. Even 1 on the rear end

BTW i forgot to mention .. that happened when my header/exhaust gasket was bad and bolts weren't connected and car sounded like a monster truck. But to the guy it still sounded like a N/A rotary with exhaust.

oh well. I almost bought a 90 Supra Turbo with a 383. That car was mean sounding. Felt like the whole ground shook when the car started. The next day I brought him the money only to find someone else bought it. Its all good tho. Cause the tranny went out of it the next week from what I heard. Dang I just wish I knew how much one of these conversions cost.
I just realize your here in NC. Where in wilmington are you locate as we (family and friends) go to the beach house down there in the summer time.

I almost bought a TT BPU Supra, but decided to go with a money saving way. It was seriously SUPRA VS V8 REX...it was hard to decide. Now I'm glad because I'm planning on competing in Auto x and I didn't spend a bunch of money on the car and insurance.

I live 2 miles from Wrightsville Beach!
