Oil Pump?
I'm getting ready to do a head/cam swap and was wondering if it's worth the expense of getting a ported/blueprinted oil pump?
Car's an early '01(got it in Aug '00) and have seen on here and other forums that they had solved their quality problems. What are the chances of my pump failing?
Who's got the best oil pump out there?
Thanks!

I just got my Ported Oil pump installed today. I bought it from texas-speed.com. I didnt see improvement on my TA but there might be another problem with my car other than the oil pump. People claim that it will increase 10-15 psi.

Just get a factory replacement for $65 or $70. Might as well throw one in there while you're at it, but you don't need a ported pump unless you're gonna spin it past 7000. It'll just be overkill, and be more of a chance of sucking the pan dry unless you have a bigger one. I have 83k, and when warm my car gets 45 idle, 58-60 cruise, 70 WOT on Mobil 1 0W40, plenty of pressure. If you stay with the 10psi/1000 rpm motto which is already playing it very safe, you don't need anything more than stock.
