Question Lost to a 03SVT...

I thought I would of done a little better against a 03 cobra. I have alot of respect for them dont get me wrong, but I didn't expect it to go how it did.

First up, the mods.

Me- 99z m6, ls6 clutch/hydrolics/intake, SLP lid, flowtech LT's, ORY, borla open plate, SSRA, MAF ends, ported/filled TB, !AIR, !EGR, BMR SFC's/torque arm, lca brackets and lca's, g2 adj panhard.

03 cobra(vert)- pulley(12psi) handheld tuner.

We only did one run for now, and it was from a 10mph roll so we couldn't use any "wheel spin" excuses. We didn't get a dead even start off the 3 beeps, my front end was by his front tire, but I am NOT using that as an excuse. He got a quick jump through first and I couldn't catch him but he didn't really pull away. We only got to go up to around 100ish I think. From my seat, it looked like my front end was a good car length from his rear.

I plan on running him again, hopefully tomorrow night. Here is my only beef. Since we started so low in RPM's, is it possible that he made more of his power sooner(blower)? Anyone think I got a chance from a good 50-55mph roll in high 2nd?

hell its got a pulley on the stock supercharger, u did damn good.. if he was stock or exhuast only like u are for the most part, then u would have prolly gotten him.. with a pulley ect those 03's tend to dyno well into the 400+ range ...

i would keep to the low rpms personally.... dont do the ricer roll.. and if he makes lowend up top, he'll make it down low

the only power mods you have are the longtubes, hes prolly making 80-100rwhp more then you bud, count ur blessing that those cars are heavy as hell and dyno queens.

and if he jumped a 1/4 of a car that can turn into 1 car length alone man.. honestly its not so much the 1/4 car as it is hes into the top of his gear quicker and then into teh next before you are, getting the jump gives u all the momentum as well.

Dyno queens?

Nice run Lss1350. Just shake off the loss, by some more mods, and run him again.

dyno queens they are not. Properly set up cobras crack a lot of ***...

Dont worry man, you really dont have too many mods on the car. If you want just slap on a little wet kit, and maybe a cam if you want and go knocking on that guys door again

What do you mean by dyno queens? I'm not familiar with that term. That's pretty cool though how you hung with the pullied Cobra.

So the Cobra more than likely had the 3.10" pulley on there, not bad.

Yeah, Dyno Queens. Not many people that hang around me think Cobra's are Dyno Queens. Cobra's are funny when it comes to mods. A 2.93 pulley without CAI/CB and box tune nets ya anywhere from 410 to 430 while the same pulley with the supporting mods can get ya as much as 440 or so. Mine puts down what's in my sig with a 2.8 and I know there's more still on the table.

Well its all over for me, right now atleast. Heard he just picked up a catback and cold air setup. May be a little more than my I/E car can handle. I may still show a better time slip at the track due to traction issues for him though. Time will tell...

those cobras are so hot man. good death. I really want to run one once I get my new brakes done and my Ls6 intake. On an off note I saw a new 6 cylinder mustang smash into a tree today.

FYI - Mustangs (of any '86+ V8 flavor) don't have "Y" pipes.

They either have "H" pipes or "X" pipes..
