Default tranny

anyone know how much a t-56 weighs, im trying to figure out how to ship mine and i put in 200 pounds but ups and fed ex dosent ship anyhtign over 150 pounds so is it more or less than 150 pounds?

also anyone know a good way to ship a transmission

~140 pounds. I have shipped mine Fedex Ground before, but tey lost it for three weeks. I have since only used freight shipping companies.

what did ya ship it on a pallet or in a crate?

I made a nice pretty crate for it out of 2x4s and plywood when I sent it via Fedex. They somehow managed to crush the crate. After that I just strapped it to a pallet. That seemed to work best for me and the shops.

fed ex only ships stuff 150 pounds and under, i weighed my paleett and got 55 pounds so plus the tranny wouldnt that put me over or do they just go by how much the item weights

I think its total weight.

Are you shipping to a shop? If so you might give them a call to see who the use to ship the trannys back to the customers.

When using the freight/trucking companies it's cheaper to have it shipped either from a business or depot.

I don't care much for Fedex after my ordeal. Everytime I called to check and see if they had found it nobody seemed to care that they lost a 2000 dollar transmission. 3 weeks later they found it in their lost package depot in StLouis along with three other transmissions they had there. I went with Fedex the first time because I thought it would be easier than trying to deal with a trucking company. Boy was I wrong.

its not going to a shop just someones house

maybe i could take it to my dads shop and have it picked up there?
