Default Need Help Right Now!!!

i am doing the A4 to M6 swap right now. We have everything done and are trying to get the tranny installed. When we go to install it , the shaft stops like an inch before going all the way in. It feels like its hitting something pretty solid. What could be the problem?

Also when we pulled the auto out there was already a pilot bearing in there. We just left that one in because it seemed to be the exact same size as the new one (we used the clutch alignment tool to see this). Would this be the problem? Need help as we are tying to get this done tonight.

Also the previous owner had a LS6 put into the car. So would the pilot bearing be any smaller, shallower, etc. since the tranny is not directly connected to the engine in the vette?

This may be of some help:

I doubt that the pilot bearing is an issue. I beleive that they are the same.
