Default wierd popping noise...WTF?

I started my car up at about 7AM this morning. It got pretty cold overnight, enough to frost the grass. I started driving after about 10 seconds because I was running late. I usually let it warm up a little. I was going slow through my neighborhood (around 10-15MPH) and it felt like the car had no power. I tried to give it a little gas a few times and it made a popping sound. I thought maybe a plug wire was loose that's how bad it felt. I checked and everything was fine. After about 30 seconds it was fine. I drove it the rest of the day and it seems ok. It made the sound twice and I have no idea what it was. Could it be a combination of the cam and the cold start?

Yep, big cams make an engine more cold blooded; they need more warm up time. I've noticed this with many other cars with different engines as well, including a '67 Firebird. I don't know the science behind it; maybe someone else does.

mine has a slight hesitation in the mornings when its colder, but only if i hop in and go, rather than letting it move a little air thruogh it...
