How long has Strange been making these?

A couple of years ago they came out with drop-out centers with the 8.75 12-bolt dimensions. It does two things: First it locates the pinion higher on the gear for less pinion wind-up and less power loss; second the unit is lighter for less inertia loss. It's a good concept, but the gear selection blows, so it really isn't that great of an option IMO.

If you are talking about the ones for the 9" housing, for at least a few years now. They are not very strong when compared to a 9", and are weaker than a standard 12 bolt because of the aluminum housing.
