I have motives. Bought the entire assembly with the gears loaded and set already. They were used for about 6k miles and there is no problems in the 200 miles of abuse I've put on them.

I run motives and love them, I have riden in a car with strange and I hated them. The whine was intollerable.

Keep in mind that the whine has more to do with the install, not just gear pitch.

partialy yes, but strange gears are well known to produce a lot of whine. Much like richmonds due to the nickle content. Motives on the other hand and known to whine less. If you install gears incorrectly it doesn't matter what brand they are. But when comparing the 2 given correct preload, backlash, pinion depth etc etc motives should win the whine game by a landslide.
