2.02/1.60 fuelly head question?
I have a set of old fuelly heads that I had redone, they have been driiled and pinned through the pressed in rocker studs. is the cost of having these heads machined for screw-in rocker studs worth it? one of the studs has the threads starting to come off (stripped)

Agreed. I had a set of em, and they are a decent casting for a factory head, but the aftermarket just has too many nice choices that make plenty more power to invest the $$$ in those heads. I'd sell em to a collector needing them for a restoration. Press-in stud heads can net $200-400 bucks if in good shape and clean.

2.02/1.60 valves, a 64cc chamber, no accessory holes, intake port volume of 161cc, exhaust 62cc. if you have an X after the last number you have-64cc chamber, intake port volume 172cc, and the exhaust port was 62CC's, valve sizing was 1.94/1.50

2.02/1.60 valves, 64cc chambers, they do have accessory holes, intake port volume should be 161cc, exhaust port volume should be 62cc straight or angle plug, this is an LT-1 head and you could get them as a gm performance part in the 70's.
both heads have double hump stamps.
never heard of 491 though.

that's what it is #492 then, I just have'nt looked at them in awhile
I know where a set of those 1.94 /1.50 dbl. hump heads are,I was told they produced alot of low end torque.

About the only reason to want a set of "double hump" heads is for restoration or nostalgia reasons. My 41 Chevy has a complete, bone-stock original 375hp/327 Rochester Fuel Injected engine, 4-speed with Hurst shifter from a 1965 Vette. It has the “double hump” heads. But the others are right there are two many aftermarket, and factory heads (vortec) that are better and make more power.
There is a market for these old heads though, especially the old castings. There is a guy that is after my Vette engine so he can restore the 65 Vette that the engine originally came out of. (My uncle was the original owner and he swapped a 427 into it years ago and I got the 327). When he offers something like a brand new LS6 crate engine complete with computer and wiring etc. I will trade him the Vette engine and transmission. Maybe in another 6 months to a year, he is getting desperate and weaker.
