Default Stiff clutch after road trip

I was driving back down to school yesterday and the clutch started out feeling normal. But after about an hour and 15 min of 75-80mph in 6th gear the whole time, when i went to put the clutch in while exiting the hwy the clutch pedal was stiffer than normal.

Anybody else have this problem?

It's the heat, I'm trying to find the post that Tony (nineball) put up about taking one of the lines away from the header. Can't seem to find it.

yea i saw that post a while back. moving the line away was supposed to fix the mushy pedal after a WOT run if i remember right.

I figured it had somethin to do w/ the heat, i just don't understand why after a WOT run the pedal gets mushy, and after a long cruise it gets stiff

You might want to check the consistancy of the fluid. A swap to synthetic will remove that as a possible source of the problem.

I just flushed/bled the clutch about 1000mi ago. Its starting to go back to the darker color tho ... so I guess I'll switch to a synth. next time I flush it. Also, I read about someone having pretty good luck w/ the Dot4 over the Dot3. So i might try that too.

Darker Fluid in only 1000 miles is indacation of a hydrolic problem.. The fluid is getting hot.. Use Wilwood 570deg Brake Fluid for your clutch and wrap the steel braded line with header tape or wrap to keep the heat at bay.. Also make sure you use zip ties around the rubber hose from the rez to the mastercylinder. Tie the zip ties around the male fitting that the rubber hose goes over...

Don't use synth fluid. It will eat the seals.
