Default tranny whine

I just got my truck back from getting a tranny installed. When i put it in gear it will whine. It doesnt do it in park or neutral, only while it is in gear. Any ideas what might be causing this? This is a 4l80e in a 2500hd 4x4.

Could the conveter be causing the transmision to whine if it is not far enough in?

I got a whining from mine right before it blew. Like you said...it only did it while it was in drive or reverse.

I've heard this is the caused by the front pump but, I don't know for sure. The 4L60E in my truck was doing it for a while before it blew up.
