Default Bushing or Needle Bearing?

Which type of pilot bearing do you suggest and why?

A bushing is good because it is less likely to tear up the input shaft if it fails.

I've always used a bearing where available. I also avoid having the clutch in at stops or while waiting in traffic. I leave the clutch engaged and the trans. in neutral, which cuts down on the time that the input shaft and engine are at different speeds and is also easier on the throwout bearing.
