Default Puff of smoke

Crap, I'm getting a puff of light colored smoke when I first fire the car up.
Keep in mind I haven't tuned for all my mods yet. Is this something serious?
Any idea folks?

the color is grey from what I see in the mirror.
Motor has 55,500 miles and around 2500 on cam and heads.
No cats, and no tune yet. I'm thinking I got a head gasket
leaking. I smell coolant from time to time after I been driving
around for awhile but it only smokes when I first fire it up.

mine smokes sumtimes on start up and when i rev it up real high and let off. i revved it up for a friend and when he saw smoke, he instantly said i have a leaky valve seal without really looking into it. he knows his stuff tho. he built his own tiny personal plane and goes flying around chasing deer!

I would worry about it really especially if you have a cam, if you couldve seen mine when i first got it, it wasnt tuned for the 30lb injectors and was running pick rich at 10:1 A/F. Took her and got her tuned and she want from 360 to 420 in 94 degree weather needless to say Im anxious for cold weather to see what she'll run.

Get it tuned first, since you should do that anyway. But, if it only smokes on startup a likely scenario is a leaking valve seal(s). What happens is when you shut the engine off at night or whenever, a little bit of oil leaks past the valve seal and into the combustion chamber. As soon as you fire it up, it burns that little bit of oil away (hence the puff of smoke).

I'm gonna get a tune in the next few weeks right after I install
an intake.
Would a faulty injector cause this as well? I'm going to check the fuel
pressure this weekend to see if there is a drop after it shuts off.
