Default 05 Gto Vs Sc S2000

i raced my brother in law the other day he has a paxton sc on his 05 s2000, my 05 gto is stock.
1st run from about 60mph, i drop in to 4th and punch it i put half a car on him, i grab 5th and he's still on my door we shut it down.
2nd run from about 50, i drop into 3rd this time, same results we shut it down around 90 because traffic.
3rd run from about 45, i drop to 2nd and punch it i put alittle more than half a car, i grab 3rd miss the gear and he blows right past me
4th run was about 45 again, i drop to 2nd and punch it i put half a car on him i grab 3rd (no miss this time) and he's still around my bumper i grab 4th an i look back and he's about 1 car back so i stay on it i look back and he let off, he said his clutch started to stink so he got off of it. i need some mods bad. maybe this weekend we will try from a dig, he gets major wheel spin when he grabs second, so i 'm pretty sure i can get him from a dig but it will be close.

I meant to ask the same question.
Are you sure you picked the right gears?

Yes GTO's have a closer gear ratio, very similar to the one in the Z06

The GTO has the same M12 as the Z06 and it has 3.46 gears. But I still thought the goat would pull on a S2000 even a s/c one.

consider his weight 2900lbs and 340-350 hp with the sc. I did slowly walk away on the 4th race, next time i will push my gto hard

Nice kill!

As was mentioned earlier, you could've managed dropping down to 3rd at 60mph on your first run.....probably pulled a bit harder from that gear at that speed. But great kill nevertheless. You've got closer ratios with your tranny as well as a slightly shorter final drive than the F-Bodies.

Yeah, drive it the way it was meant to be driven man. Go from a 60 roll and rev match to around 4-4.5k as you move the shifter into 2nd, and powershift into 3rd and 4th, and goodbye

they run high 12's to low 13's.... but i tell you that s2000 is very fast, not like the power of the gto, but fast like a bullet he let my drive it, and from 1-2 the back end gets real looooose but i still think i can take him from a dig

If you know how to drive you will kill him from a dig. Pick better gears next time. I've raced a Supercharged S2000 and murdered him. Remember they are only making like 150 hp until about 5000 rpm where they start peaking up to 300 or so at 7000 rpm or something.
